    RIL becomes first domestic firm to cross Rs 12 lakh cr m-cap mark

    • Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) on Monday added another feather to its cap as its market valuation crossed Rs 12 lakh crore mark, a first by any domestic company.
    • The company's market valuation rose by Rs 40,508.8 crore to Rs 11,73,677.35 crore at close of trade on the BSE.
    • RIL's partly paid-up shares crossed Rs 40,000 crore in market cap, thereby taking the aggregate market capitalisation of RIL to Rs 12.14 lakh crore (USD 163.1 billion).

    • Petrol pump owners in the national capital on Monday urged Delhi government to reduce VAT on petroleum products, citing lower rates in neighbouring states.
    • The increase in value added tax (VAT) on diesel is resulting in heavy loss of sales at petrol pumps in Delhi and making it unviable to operate them, the Delhi Petrol Dealers Association (DPDA), which has around 400 petrol pump owners as members, said in a statement.

    COVID-19: Vistara will let passenger book adjacent seat at discount to keep it vacant

    • A passenger planning to travel on a Vistara flight will soon be able to book the adjacent seat as well at a discounted rate so as to keep it vacant, said its Chief Commercial Officer Vinod Kannan on Monday.
    • This statement came after Vistara released a survey on Monday that stated 24 per cent passengers were worried that fellow flyers would not adhere to coronavirus-related health protocols while flying.
