Mystery shrouded the death of a 50-year-old lady schoolteacher, whose body was found in a room of her house along with her injured husband and daughter at village Mirjapur under Dharmasala police station in Jajpur district on Monday.

KENDRAPADA: Mystery shrouded the death of a 50-year-old lady schoolteacher, whose body was found in a room of her house along with her injured husband and daughter at village Mirjapur under Dharmasala police station in Jajpur district on Monday.
The body of Tarulata Biswal, 50, teacher in Ananta Kumari girls high school at Mirzapur, was found lying in a pool of blood, bearing injury marks on her chin and at the back of head, police said.
Tarulata’s husband Nityananda Mallick, 55, and their 17-year-old daughter Jayashree Mallick were also found in a critical condition in the house, poice said. Locals, who noticed blood flowing out of the room, alerted police. Both are now undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Cuttack. Nityananda is working in Bhusan steel plant in Angul. Jayashree is studying Plus II arts in a college in Cuttack. Cops along with forensic experts rushed to the spot to investigate the matter and collected some samples.
The cause of death would be ascertained after receiving the autopsy report, police said. A probe is on to ascertain the reason behind the crime and identify the perpetrators. Cases of murder and attempt to murder are registered against unidentified persons at Dharmasala police station. “We have detained two persons in this case,” said Chinmay Nayak, sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) of Jajpur.
