With N’Golo Kante out with a hamstring injury, Frank Lampard has decided to start Billy Gilmour at the base of the Chelsea midfield against Crystal Palace tonight.

Jorginho has not had a minute of action since the restart but Lampard keeps the midfielder on the bench.

Gilmour’s only other start since the restart was in the FA Cup at Leicester when he was substituted at half-time.

After Chelsea kept a clean sheet against Watford, Lampard has stuck with the back four that played in that game.

Antonio Rudiger and Marcos Alonso must settle for a place on the bench again, while Olivier Giroud leads the line once again ahead of Tammy Abraham after his goal against Watford.

Mateo Kovacic and Fikayo Tomori remained sidelined through injury.
