HYDERABAD: The state government will soon invite tenders for construction of the new secretariat complex.
Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will take a call on going for nation-wide or global tenders to select a company of repute to execute the prestigious project for Telangana government.
The plan is to complete the demolition and debris removal process prior to the finalisation of the tender process so that the project site is handed over to the selected agency once the bids are finalised.

“The demolition of the secretariat buildings will continue for a few more days and the debris will be dumped at quarry pits around Greater Hyderabad. We are also looking at other sites to properly dispose of the building debris,” said an official.
The chief minister wants the construction of the new secretariat complex completed in a year from the date the contract is awarded to the selected agency. The new secretariat complex will be fully Vastu-compliant with ultra-modern facilities.
While no building can be entirely immune to damages from earthquakes, an effort will be made to ensure that quake-resistant secretariat complex was constructed that can fare better during seismic activity than other normal constructions. Hyderabad falls under Zone-2 wherein earthquakes up to magnitude 5 can occur which usually does not cause collapse of buildings.

In addition to the chief minister, cabinet ministers and various departments of the secretariat, the new complex will have an administration-cum-command control centre with connectivity to all the district collectorates and gram panchayats.
Sources said provision will also be made for temple and mosque construction in the secretariat premises.
