The state cabinet sub-committee has decided to put up a strong case before the apex court on the Maratha reservation petition in order to defend the quota in medical education.

MUMBAI: The state cabinet sub-committee has decided to put up a strong case before the apex court on the Maratha reservation petition in order to defend the quota in medical education.
The next hearing in the reservation case in Supreme Court is on Wednesday next. However, the sub-committee has decided to discuss for the next few days the issue with a few Maratha outfits and with legal experts who will present the case in SC.
Ashok Chavan is chairperson of the subcommittee. The MVA government has said it is considering implementation of several measures for the Maratha community. Deputy CM Ajit Pawar attended Wednesday’s meeting as a special invitee.
