NEW DELHI: The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) on Friday cancelled its pending secondary and senior secondary exams, which were scheduled to be held from July 17, in view of the prevailing situation in the country due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
While the pending papers will be evaluated based on the marks scored by the candidates in papers in which he or she has already appeared or tutor-marked assignments, NIOS will also offer a chance to improve their grades in the next public examination to be held when the situation gets conducive.

For assessment of the pending papers, the result committee has formulated a four-step evaluation formula. According to the notification issued by NIOS, all learners of Class X and XII who have passed in four subjects, the average of marks obtained in the best three subjects will be awarded as theory performance in the subjects for which examination could not be held.
