After the fanfare surrounding 'Project Restart' there are just four games remaining in the English Premier League season.

With the end of the league campaign a number of players across the league will be out of contract, as well as those who refused to extend their deals beyond June 30.

With just three weeks until the Scottish Premiership season gets under way, you can bet Celtic and Rangers will be eyeing-up some potential bargain signings.

The Hoops have already been linked with Joe Hart and Claudio Bravo, but they're far from the only options out there.

Here are five players who could be on the shortlist for Glasgow's big two.

Beram Kayal

Neil Lennon is certainly not averse to getting the old band back together, as shown by last season's deal for Fraser Forster and the pursuit of Victor Wanyama.

Kayal won four league titles at Celtic and has just been released by Brighton.

The 32-year-old wouldn't be first choice these days but the Israeli would add depth in midfield and would surely love the opportunity to help secure 10 In A Row.

Nampalys Mendy

Once Leicester City's record signing, the midfielder has struggled to live up to his £13million price tag.

After just six Premier League appearances this season he's available on a free transfer, and at the age of 28 should still have several good years ahead of him.

A solid presence in the middle of the park, the Frenchman was compared to Claude Makelele early in his career.

While that might have been slightly overstating his case, if he can stay injury free he'd add something to either Celtic or Rangers ' midfield.

Adrian Mariappa

Both sides of the Glasgow divide could be in the market for a cheap and reliable centre-back option this summer.

Celtic are without Jozo Simunovic after his departure, while Rangers have lost Nikola Katic to a long-term injury.

One player who could fit the bill is 33-year-old Watford centre-back Adrian Mariappa.

The Jamaican international may not be the most glamorous of players, but he was over 100 Premier League appearances under his belt and would certainly be a reliable backup option.

Ezequiel Schelotto

Another area where both Lennon and Steven Gerrard may be looking to strengthen is right-back.

The Ibrox club could do with an alternative to James Tavernier, while Hatem Abd Elhamed's injury struggles and Jeremie Frimpong's inexperience could lead Celtic to explore their options.

Schelotto is available on a free transfer and his speed and stamina should be perfectly suited to Scottish football.

An Italian international - albeit with one cap - the 31-year-old has experience at Inter and Sporting CP.

Jordon Ibe

Former £15million man Ibe has been released by Bournemouth, and has already been linked with a move to Celtic.

Still only 24, the winger should have plenty of resale value if he can recapture his best form.

It's the Hoops who have been linked but, with Ibe having come through the youth ranks at Liverpool, could Gerrard be keeping an eye on him too?
