BJP MLA in West Bengal found dead, BJP claims TMC behind the killing

Debendra Nath Roy, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Hemtabad was found hanging outside his home in West Bengal’s North Dinajpur district.

Confirming the news, BJP’s West Bengal unit took it to the micro-blogging site and tweeted, “Body of Shri Debendra Nath Ray, BJP MLA from Hemtabad, a reserved seat, in Uttar Dinajpur, was found hanging like this in Bindal, near his village home. People are of the clear opinion that he was first killed & then hung. His crime? He joined the BJP in 2019. Om Shanti.”

Meanwhile BJP President JP Nadda, while commenting on the incident said, “The suspected heinous killing of Debendra Nath Ray, BJP MLA from Hemtabad in West Bengal, is extremely shocking and deplorable. This speaks of the Gunda Raj & failure of law and order in the Mamta govt. People will not forgive such a govt in the future. We strongly condemn this.”

BJP leader Rahul Sinha has claimed TMC’s role behind the killing of BJP MLA and has demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter.
