NOIDA: The
district RWA body has asked
the Noida Authority to annually clean the
Shahdara irrigation drain that starts from Sector 11 and passes through sectors 34, 35 and 51, etc. Residents said if the drain is not cleaned, waterlogging issues crop up during monsoons.
"The cleaning of
Shahdara irrigation drain has not been conducted despite monsoon already setting in. Unlike every year, the Noida Authority has not started its annual cleaning work of the drain.
We fear that problem of waterlogging will now arise across Noida, especially in low lying areas and residential sectors as all big drains of the city will start overflowing," said N P Singh, the president of
District Development Residents Welfare Association.
In a letter to CEO
Ritu Maheshwari on Sunday, Sector 51 RWA complained about lack of functional toilets in the sector's children park and neighbouring Meghdootam park.
