    Mercury drops after rain lashes several places in Haryana, Punjab

    The maximum temperatures dropped in Haryana and Punjab on Sunday after rain lashed several places. Chandigarh, which received heavy rainfall at night, recorded a maximum temperature of 31.8 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal, the Meteorological Department said.

    In Haryana, Hisar, which received 25 mm of rain, recorded a maximum temperature of 30.8 degrees Celsius, down seven notches below normal, while it was 30 degrees in Karnal.

    Ambala registered a high of 30.2 degrees Celsius, five notches below normal, after 48.3 mm of rain at night. The maximum temperature in Narnaul was 32.6 degrees, four notches below normal.

    In Punjab, the maximum temperature in Amritsar was 33 degrees, two notches below normal.

    The mercury touched 29.4 degrees in Patiala, down five notches, while Ludhiana registered a high of 30.6 degrees, three degrees below normal.

    Partial lockdown in Srinagar to combat COVID-19; over 60 containment zones designated

    Authorities on Sunday ordered a partial lockdown in Srinagar by designating over 60 containment zones amid a surge in coronavirus cases over the past week, officials said.

    The lockdown will be imposed in 68 containment zones of the city from Monday and no movement would be allowed in these areas without permission, they said.

    Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, daughter Aaradhya COVID-19 positive in second test

    After Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, son Abhishek, now Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, daughter Aaradhya have also tested positive for coronavirus, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope has confirmed.

    Earlier in the day, Jaya Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Aaradhya tested negative for coronavirus, however, the three were again tested for COVID-19 in which both Aishwarya, daughter Aaradhya reports have come positive. In a sigh of relief, Jaya Bachchan has tested negative for the infectious disease.

    As per reports, both Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya are likely to be home quarantined. 

    On Saturday evening the 77-year-old Amitabh Bachchan tweeted to confirm that he was Covid-19 positive.

    "T 3590 -I have tested CoviD positive .. shifted to Hospital .. hospital informing authorities .. family and staff undergone tests, results awaited .. All that have been in close proximity to me in the last 10 days are requested to please get themselves tested!" @SrBachchan had tweeted.

    Abhishek Bachchan also took to his Instagram and reiterate that his father Amitabh Bachchan and he have mild symptoms of Covid-19. He requested all "to stay calm and not panic".

    Anupam Kher's mother, brother test coronavirus positive

    Veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher's mother, brother and some family members have tested positive for coronavirus. His mother, Dulari has mild symptoms and is being treated at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai. The Bollywood star informed about the coronavirus results in a tweet. 

    "This is to inform all that my mother Dulari is found Covid + (Mildly). We have admitted her into Kokilaben Hospital. My brother, bhabhi & niece inspite of being careful have also tested mildly positive.I got myself tested as well & I have tested negative. @mybmc  is informed," Anupam Kher tweets.

    Jaya Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, daughter Aradhana Bachchan test negative for coronavirus

    Jaya Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, daughter Aradhana Bachchan have tested negative for coronavirus. The three were tested for COVID-19 after Amitabh Bachchan, son Abhishek informed that they were found positive for the infectious disease. Both the actors have been moved to an isolation ward in Nanavati hospital.

    Amitabh Bachchan is 77, Abhishek is 44 years old. Earlier taking it to Twitter, Abhishek wrote, "Earlier today both my father and I tested positive for COVID 19. Both of us having mild symptoms have been admitted to hospital. We have informed all the required authorities and our family and staff are all being tested. I request all to stay calm and not panic.
