Jaya Ahsan wins Film and Frames Digital Film Award for ‘Konttho’
Celebrated actor Jaya Ahsan has won multiple awards, both at home and abroad, over the years. Recently, she won the Films and Frames Digital Film Award (Bangla) for 'Trendsetting Performance of the Year' for her role as speech therapist Dr Romilla Chowdhury, in Konttho.
Films and Frames Digital Film Awards, sponsored by Helo, is the first digital film awards programme, held in West Bengal. Jaya is the first female artiste to win this award. Anirban Bhattacharya won the award in the male category.
40 artistes were awarded this year, and the winners were announced on June 26. On behalf of Jaya, her manager in Kolkata received the award.
Initiated by producers Shyam Sundar De, Tanmoy Banerjee and Neil Roy, the ceremony was launched on Facebook on July 10. The jury board consisted of renowned film directors and journalists from Kolkata.
"I am delighted and honoured to receive this award. I would like to convey my sincere gratitude to the jury and all those who believed in me and my work," says Jaya.
