Emmerdale revisits a recent twist next week, as Charity Dingle steps up her plan to locate a past villager.

Charity is hoping to sort out her adoption plans with partner Vanessa Woodfield, who was diagnosed with bowel cancer earlier this year.

Amid her treatment, Vanessa fears she will not survive her illness and is trying to set things into place in case the worst happens.

She and Charity agreed she would adopt her son Johnny in case she lost her battle.

But Charity can't adopt Johnny without permission from his biological father, Kirin Kotecha.

Kirin fled the village back in 2016 after causing the death of Tess Harris, in a hit-and-run.

He ditched Vanessa and their young son in the village for a life on the run, and hasn't really been heard of since.

But recently, Charity learned she needed his signature for the adoption to go ahead.

With his whereabouts unknown, and that of his father Rakesh also a mystery after he too went on the run for a separate incident, Charity is not sure what to do.

Keeping the news from Vanessa, next week sees her step up her hopes to locate him yet again.

She seeks an opportunity when she learns from Rakesh's ex Priya Sharma that her current flame Al Chapman is stranded in Scotland, after his car breaks down.

She decides to use this to her advantage with her mechanic daughter Debbie Dingle now living there.

Charity offers Priya a deal - she'll get Debbie to help Al, if she calls Kirin's sister to find out where he is.

But will Priya go through with it?
