Subway to replace railway level crossing at Chromepet

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Tuesday opened several projects worth Rs 248.53 crore built by the state highways department across the state. He also laid the foundation stone for a restricted vehicular subway in Chromepet here.
“The subway, estimated at Rs 28.99 crore, will replace a railway level crossing (No 27) at Radha Nagar in Chromepet,” said an official release.

The chief minister also opened the upgraded state highway between Kancheepuram and Vandavasi and the state highway between Sadras and Chengalpet at an estimated cost of Rs 217.27 crore.
He opened 20 bridges and two administrative buildings in Perambalur, Pudukkottai, Nagapattinam, Madurai, Kanyakumari, Tuticorin and Tenkasi districts, the release said.
