At least 590 Nigerians stranded in the United Kingdom due to the coronavirus pandemic have returned home, the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission has said.
Announcing via Twitter on Tuesday, NIDCOM said the evacuees returned on two separate flights.
The first flight conveyed 261 returnees and arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja at exactly 7pm while the second flight conveyed 329 citizens and arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos at exactly 8pm.
NIDCOM said the returnees would undergo 14-day self-isolation in line with the guidelines of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control as well as the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.
