Dadri cops in tizzy after emergency slip of Kanpur patient found with same details as Vikas Dubey

An emergency slip with the name of a 55-year-old patient from Kanpur created a flutter on Friday after Dadri police found that it had the same details as slain gangster Vikas Dubey who was killed in a controversial encounter with the UP STF after he was returning to UP amid police protection following his surrender before the Madhya Pradesh police on July 9.

GREATER NOIDA: An emergency slip with the name of a 55-year-old patient from Kanpur created a flutter on Friday after Dadri police found that it had the same details as slain gangster Vikas Dubey who was killed in a controversial encounter with the UP STF after he was returning to UP amid police protection following his surrender before the Madhya Pradesh police on July 9.

The slip which had exactly the same details of name, age and birth place of the gangster was ironically issued by the Dadri community health centre (CHC) on the day of his death – July 10, 2020. However, officials say, none took treatment using that slip.
With news reports already stating that Dubey had spend two days in Gautam Budh Nagar before surrendering near the Mahakaleshwar Temple of Ujjain, the slip had the cops on their toes and an inquiry was instantly initiated into who was the patient who got the slip issued at the CHC.
According to the officials of the Dadri community health centre (CHC), they received a call from police on Friday inquiring about the mentioned slip.
“We received a call from the Dadri police on Friday and were asked about the slip. We inquired into it and spoke to the ward boy who had issued the slip to the patient concerned. He informed us that a drunkard had arrived at the CHC and given these details after which, he was issued the slip. We have sought a written statement from the ward boy in connection with the same,” Dr Amit Kumar, incharge of the Dadri CHC told TOI.
Dadri police too said that while they had been inquiring into the incident, prima facie, it seems to be a case of mischief.

“We had checked the register during the inquiry and found that some days back, another person had given his details as Sanjay Dutt, Munna Bhai, MBBS. The ward boy would have issued the slip on the details given to him by the patient. It has been found that noone took treatment using the concerned slip. Prima facie, it seems like a mischief,” Dadri SHO Dinesh Singh told TOI.
However, the incident refreshed the rumours of Dubey’s presence in Gautam Budh Nagar prior to his surrender. Earlier, TOI had reported how Dubey had stayed in Gautam Budh Nagar for two days – July 5 and 6- before his controversial surrender in MP and had tried to get himself surrendered in the Gautam Budh Nagar court.
On July 7 and 8, Gautam Budh Nagar police had resorted to heavy checking outside the Surajpur court and turned the Film City area into a cantonment after rumours that he possibly wanted to surrender through some media channel.
