Four of family killed in car-truck collision near Amreli

RAJKOT: A woman, her two children and her mother-in-law were killed when the car they were travelling in collided with a truck on Amreli-Bagasara Road near Babapar village on the outskirts of Amreli on Monday evening.
“The victims were all from one family. They were going to Bagasara in their car. The car, while trying to overtake a vehicle going ahead, came face-to-face with the truck coming from the opposite direction,” said A P Der, head constable with Amreli taluka police station.
The deceased were identified as Kanchan Rathod (29) and her daughter Hetal Rathod (10) and son Jaideep Rathod (4); and her mother-in-law Kanu Rathod (55).
The accident left three persons — Pasu Baraiya (55), Hansa Rathod (45) and Jignesh Rathod (32) — injured. They have been admitted to Amreli Civil Hospital.
