Telangana: First Covid-19 positive case reported at Secunderabad Cantt Board

SECUNDERABAD: A first positive Covid-19 case has been reported in the Engineering Wing of Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) on Wednesday.
A couple of days ago, an official working in the engineering wing found Covid-19 symptoms and then he had gone for testing on Wednesday and tested positive in the result. Doctors have advised him to go for home quarantine and asked family members to attend Covid-19 test.
Soon after, the information has been received, the SCB Health & Sanitation wing officials have advised the other staff to vacate the premise and later on sanitised the office chamber of the building concerned.
In fact, the official who was affected with the virus has attended the official duties like building inspection, sanctioned layouts and marking for other developmental works, with other senior officials, as part of routine duties.
By knowing the news about Covid-19 positive to his co-employee, other employees are in panic. The president of Secunderabad Cantonment Board Employees Union and senior Sanitation superintendent, M Mahender, advised the staff and other employees to attend Virus tests, as a precautionary measure.
Keeping in view this incident, Cantonment residents who are coming to SCB main office on various works like collecting of birth and death certificates and payment of property tax and water bills, advised to avoid visiting the SCB office for next couple of weeks, a SCB official made a plea.
