Bilaspur Collector on Saturday informed that a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed after 45 cows in Takhatpur tehsil died of suffocation and a committee has been formed to investigate the matter.

48,916 cases take India's COVID-19 count above 13 lakh-mark
- India reported a spike of 48,916 coronavirus cases on Saturday, taking the total number of reported COVID-19 cases to 13,36,861, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
- The total count include 4,56,071 active cases, 8,49,431 cured/discharged/migrated.
- With 757 deaths in the last 24 hours, the cumulative toll reached 31,358.
Congress to hold nationwide protests on Monday
- The Congress has decided to launch nationwide protests on Monday in front of different Raj Bhavans against the "anti-democratic and anti-constitutional" actions of the BJP.
- In a statement, detailing the reason behind the protest to be held, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal said, "The very basic constitutional and democratic frame of the Nation is facing an unprecedented attack from the BJP. Democratic institutions, constitutional values and institutions are being subverted and subjugated in a dangerously premeditated manner, with democratically elected opposition Governments in one State after another being toppled by the BJP, using money, intimidation and blatant misuse of constitutional bodies and functionaries."

10 lakh people affected due floods in Bihar, Darbhanga worst hit
- Bihar Disaster Management Department Principal Secretary Pratyaya Amrit on Saturday said that 10 lakh people have been affected due to the floods in the state and the Darbhanga district is the worst affected.
- He added that there has been a slight reduction in the water levels across the state and around one lakh people have been evacuated.
- Pratyaya Amrit said apart from the evacuation of the flood-affected people, relief shelters have been erected and community kitchens are being run.
- As many as 21 relief camps are functional in the state.

- Ishfaq Rashid Khan, one of the top Lashkar-e-toiba (LeT) commanders and terrorist Aijaz Ahmad were neutralised by security forces on Saturday during Ranbirgarh encounter.
- "The encounter began at about 8 am. A search operation is going on," Kashmir Zone Police said.
