BHUBANESWAR: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha announced the annual High School Certificate (HSC) results on Wednesday. As many as 5.60 lakh students had appeared the examination of whom a total of 4, 21,256 students have passed in the class-X board exams 2020 registering a pass percentage of 78.76%. This year the pass percentage made a jump of 6% against last year's 72%.
Announcing the results school and Mass education minister Samir Ranjan Dash congratulated all successful students and also thanked teachers who completed the evaluation despite the pandemic and lockdown.

"Matric exam is not the final or end exam so students cheer up and move ahead in life. I sincerely thank all teachers who faced so much pain to complete evaluation amidst lockdown and the outbreak of a pandemic," Das said.
Board sources said as many as 1279 students passed in A1 grade, 8458 students passed in A2 grade. Similarly 18188 students and 31328 students passed in B1 and B2 grades. As many as 49153 students passed in C grade and 89556 students passed in D grade. I. E grade 22,3195 students passed.
Girls outshine boys in the exam. Of the total 262738 girl students, 215368 have passed the exam this year with pass percentage of 81.98%. As many as 192501 boys have passed the exam from the total of 247451 male students with pass percentage of 77.8%.
This year 667 schools have scored 100% results while 31 schools have registered nil results against 82 schools last year. "We took extra efforts to reduce the nil results and i personally visited the schools with poor scores. We have improved this time," Das added.
Bargarh district recorded highest pass percentage of 87.28% followed by 86.82% in Puri. Nuapada district has the lowest pass percentage of 60.18%.
Students can log on to the board website for the results and also get their scores on mobile phone by typing OR01 (Roll No) and sending the message to 5676750.
