Markelo discusses Brands' Everton advice after loan exit

Nathangelo Markelo has opened up on Marcel Brands’ advice ahead of his loan spell away from Everton.

The midfielder completed a temporary switch to FC Twente earlier this week after another impressive season as part of the under-23s setup.

The 21-year-old has been a key member of David Unsworth’s side for some time but now has the chance to claim some first team football next term with the Eredivisie side.

That is an opportunity Markelo will relish, and he has spoken about Everton director of football Brands’ view on the loan switch.

Plane tracking and conference delay: fans remember Lukaku move

It’s been six years since Romelu Lukaku caused a bit of a frenzy among Everton supporters.

The striker spent a successful period on loan at Goodison Park from Chelsea for the 2013/14 campaign, bagging 15 goals in 31 Premier League appearances during his temporary spell.

By the time the summer came around there were rumours linking the Belgium international with a permanent exit from Stamford Bridge, and Everton were considered to be an option.

However, not many people really started to believe until one particular post on social media.

Ancelotti makes claim over Kean's Everton game time next season

Carlo Ancelotti has reiterated his faith in Moise Kean, claiming the Everton striker will be in for more game time next season.

The youngster arrived at Goodison Park in the closing stages of last summer’s transfer window from Juventus, but struggled to nail down a starting place throughout the season.

The 20-year-old was in the line-up for the first time since January in the final game of 2019/20 against Bournemouth, and took his opportunity well with a great performance and his second goal for the club.

Some time ago, rumours had swirled over Kean’s position with the Blues and whether a move could be on the cards in the summer.

But his manager has reiterated his stance over the striker and backed him for more next season.

Everton fans all say same thing as Kieran Dowell completes move

Kieran Dowell has left Everton for good to join Championship outfit Norwich City - and Blues fans are delighted for him.

After 15 years at the club, joining as a youngster before progressing through the Goodison Park academy, Dowell has now moved on to pastures new with the newly-relegated Canaries, joining on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Dowell has completed four loan spells during his time at Everton, spending this season on loan at Wigan Athletic.

But it seems the former England under-21 international now needs to make a permanent move to continue his progression.

And that’s very much the impression Everton fans get with Toffees wishing Dowell well as he swaps Merseyside for East Anglia.

That’s despite many fans recognising just how much of a ‘talent’ Everton have let go.

Carlo loves Crosby

Carlo Ancelotti is content on Merseyside.

The Everton boss has revealed he probably won't be going on holiday this summer due to the pandemic but is more than happy to be living in Crosby.

He told the club's official website: “I think that it will not be a long holiday [for the players], it can be two or three weeks.

“It will be important for them to have a break and spend time with their families.

“We don’t have a long time to prepare for the new season but I think when the season starts we will be ready.

“For me, honestly, I am in a place [Crosby] where people usually go on holiday!

“The beach is fantastic and so maybe I will decide to stay in Crosby for a holiday!”

Ciro Immobile latest

A report earlier this week had suggested Everton were keen on adding Lazio talisman Ciro Immobile to their roster this summer.

But a fresh report from Italy has claimed the Rome-based outfit are looking to keep hold of their star striker.

Tuttosport, cited by The Boot Room, suggest Immobile is also keen on staying put with the Serie A side this summer.

The forward has scored 34 times in the league this season so it is no wonder why Lazio are wanting to keep the veteran goalscorer around.

Marc Roca boost

Espanyol star Marc Roca reportedly has no plans to stay on in Barcelona this summer after his side suffered La Liga relegation.

The rumoured Everton target has therefore handed the Blues a boost in any rumoured pursuit with Mundo Deportivo as per HITC claiming the midfielder wants out.

With Tuttomercatoweb suggesting Roca could be available for around £18 million. Which is a lot less than his rumoured £35m release clause.

Arsenal are also being linked with a move.
