Telangana: Plans for greenery on 25 acres in Mahatma Gandhi University in Nalgonda
Mahatma Gandhi University is located at Yellareddygudem in Narketpally mandal of Nalgonda district.
HYDERABAD: Block plantation will be taken up in 25 acres of land in Mahatma Gandhi University in Nalgonda district. Collector Prashant Patil who held a meeting with officials of the panchayat raj and rural development officials and forest departments officials said in addition to the block plantation, saplings should also be planted along the university compound wall.
It may be mentioned here that the Telangana state government has taken up a massive plantation drive this year also during the ‘Haritha Haram’ programme.
Crores of saplings in all districts and in Hyderabad are being planted as per a decided target.
Mahatma Gandhi University is located at Yellareddygudem in Narketpally mandal of Nalgonda district.
Collector Prashant Patil also gave directions to officials on how plantations should be taken up at the village level under the ‘Palle Pragathi vanam’. He asked officials to identify government land available wherein saplings could be planted. At the gram panchayat level, around the plantation that is done, fencing will also be put up and walking tracks will be created. At all mandals, nurseries should be developed in an area of at least 10 acres or even up to 30 acres to provide saplings for block plantations to be taken up at various places.
