Dissolve Secunderabad Cantt Board elected body, urged Telangana BJP

While in another 10 days, the tenure of current Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) elected body, will be expired, the Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party, urged the ‘Ministry of Defence’ (MoD) to dissolve the body. On February 10, 2020, the MoD had issued orders regarding extension of the existing body’s tenure for six months.

HYDERABAD: While in another 10 days, the tenure of current Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) elected body, will be expired, the Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party, urged the ‘Ministry of Defence’ (MoD) to dissolve the body. On February 10, 2020, the MoD had issued orders regarding extension of the existing body’s tenure for six months.
A senior BJP leader and resident of Cantonment Board, G Shravan Kumar on Saturday met the Union minister of state for home affairs, G Kishan Reddy in Hyderabad, in the presence of BJP senior leader and MLC, Ramchander Rao and gave representation, seeking to dissolve the body.

Shravan also urged the MoD for re-verification of SCB electoral rolls, before announcing Cantonment Board elections, in view of lot discrepancies and irregularities in the electoral rolls.
The BJP leader also demanded MOD regarding the implementation of OBC reservation at the civilian wards, in the ensuing Cantonment Board elections, and should conduct the polls on party symbols. He too suggested appointing a three-member Constitution Board under section 13 of the Cantonment Act-2006.
Union minister, Kishan Reddy assured to discuss these demands with the Union defence minister, Rajnath Singh, soon.
