Unlock 3.0 in Bengaluru: Coronavirus cases update and latest news from your city

Karnataka government issued an order lifting Sunday and night curfews from August 1, and allowed gyms and yoga institutes to reopen from August 5 in line with the Centre’s Unlock 3.0 guidelines.
*The Karnataka State Human Rights Commission has registered a case against the BS Yediyurappa government for human rights violations in handling Covid-19.
*Update at 11.30am: The total number of Covid-19 samples tested up to August 1 is 1,98,21,831 including 4,63,172 samples tested yesterday, says Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)

*With Bengaluru continuing to witness a spike in Covid cases, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has decided to fastrack identification of vulnerable segments, including senior citizens and those with underlying medical conditions, by undertaking door-to-door surveys across the city every 10 days.
*Inaccurate Covid-19 test reports are adding to the anxieties of patients and their family members in Dakshina Kannada district. Health and district officials are also concerned about the increasing number of complaints.
*The ethics committee of the Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute warned Ayurvedic practitioner Dr Giridhara Kaje to suspend trials for public statements that his medicine could cure Covid-19 patients even though clinical trials are still under way.
*Private doctors in Karnataka's Haveri are offering their services for free at the district Covid-19 hospital, setting an example amid a litany of complaints in parts of Karnataka about private practitioners and hospitals dilly-dallying or charging high rates.
*Nearly 770 people have been booked in the city for violating home quarantine rules in the past 30 days. About 1.4 lakh people are currently in home isolation, according to civic body BBMP.
