AN IOWA BOY IS ALIVE AND WELL THANKS TO HIS QUICK-THINKI MOM, WHO JUST GRADUATED FROM NURSING SCHOOL. TISIA: CHRISTINA BRENNER ACTUALLY USED A BIKINI TOP AS A TOURNIQUET TO DO IT. HER SON, PEYTON, WAS OUT FOR RIDE ON HIS ATV WHEN HE CRASHED INTO A TREE AND FENCE. HIS LEG WAS CUT PRETTY BADLY CHRISTINA WAS RELAXING IN THE POOL AND SAW THE CRASH, SO S SPRUNG INTO ACTION. SHE KNEW HE HIT A MAJOR ARTERY, AND THAT’S WHEN HER NURSING SKILLS CAME IN HANDY. I ALREADY HAD HIS KNEE PROPPED UP AND HAD THE SWIMSUIT STARTED AND I’M HOLDING ONE EN AND I’M TELLING HER, KEEP FLIPPING IT OVER. KEEP PULLING IT TIGHTER. TISIA: PARAMEDICS SAY IT’S LIKELY THE BOY COULD’VE DIED WITHIN TWO MINUTES IF MOM HADN’T REACTED SO QUICKLY. PEYTON WAS RUSHED INTO SURGERY. An Iowa boy is alive and well thanks to his quick-thinking mom, who just graduated from nursing school. Christina Brenner actually used a bikini top as a tourniquet to do it. Her son, Peyton, was out for a ride on his ATV when he crashed into a tree and fence. WQAD reports Brenner was relaxing in the pool and saw the crash, so she sprang into action. She knew he hit a major artery, and that's when her nursing skills came in handy.“I already had his knee propped up and had the swimsuit started and I'm holding one end and I'm telling her, keep flipping it over. Keep pulling it tighter," Brenner said.Paramedics said it's likely the boy could've died within two minutes if his mom hadn't reacted so quickly. Peyton was rushed into surgery. He said there's a lot of talk about health care heroes, but he said his mom is his number one hero.
