Cinéfest Sudbury International Film Festival said it is once again thrilled to be working alongside local design firm 50 Carleton to deliver the 32nd edition festival image and promotional materials.

“In Your Comfort Zone” is this year’s tagline, highlighting this year’s hybrid festival and new online viewing platform.

“50 Carleton has knocked it out of the park once again in highlighting our new hybrid format,” said Cinéfest executive director Tammy Frick.

“This year’s theme shows off the fact that despite being apart, we can still experience the collective joy and togetherness of cinema from the comfort of our own homes.”

This year’s theme was once again developed by 50 Carleton’s chief design strategist Tony Jurgilas.

“I always anticipate and enjoy people’s reactions to each new theme,” said Jurgilas.

“A perennial comment is, ‘I can’t wait to see what you come up with next year.’ And then, suddenly, the world is a different place. But, as they say in the biz, the show must go on. So, under the circumstances, this year’s creative is more purpose-driven than in the past.

“During a Zoom briefing, it was determined that we needed to communicate a new hybrid format for the 2020 festival... consisting of home viewing options, plus a selection of films on the big screen.

“Everyone has their favourite comfy chair. This became the foundation for the theme. Now, having the choice of both small screen and big screen options, the individual cinephile will be able to enjoy great international films within their own respective comfort zone. The show will indeed go on.”

The 32nd edition of Cinefest Sudbury takes place from Sept. 19–27.
