Noida: 'Parking allowed only at designated spots. Will act swiftly on complaints'
Soon after the Town Hall, a drive to remove encroachments was carried out in front of Steller Greens
Noida is among the youngest cities in the country with an administrative authority that was formed in 1976. Since then, the city has fast emerged as a residential and educational hub, other than being an industrial centre.
To understand the changing needs of residents from the city's apartments, TOI has launched a series of Town Hall discussions with the administrative heads in Noida.
From every day civic issues to the district's fight against Covid-19, Rajeev Tyagi, the general manager of Noida Authority, spoke to presidents of several resident welfare associations and answered a range of questions in this edition of TOI's #MySocietyPride.
He said Noida Authority has been active in dealing with the pandemic and other micro-issues. "Each society has some problems unique to it and some that are more generic in nature. We have been attending to the road infrastructure, garbage issues and working to make the city increasingly green with plantation drives. Our larger goal is to make Noida a top city in India," he said. Excerpts:
We want to raise the issue of encroachment with Noida Authority. There are buses and other commercial vehicles parked on either side of roads in the vicinity of our society: Bal Gobind Sharma, president, resident welfare association, Stellar Greens
Parking of vehicles at non-designated places is not permitted and any time we get such complaints, we act on those swiftly.
We will resolve this issue at the earliest.
There are a growing number of stray dogs leading to cases of dog bites. Conflicts are also becoming common between dog lovers and feeders and among other residents who are concerned about personal safety: Krishna Rao, president, resident welfare association, Amrapali Platinum

Noida runs a facility for sterilisation and other issues pertaining to stray dogs. As you have answered your question yourself, there are dog lovers in the city who take care of the dogs. So, we have to see that small issues do not come in the way some major goals we are trying to work on, bury differences and amicably settle some of the problems.
It's been almost two years that the work on the service lanes has not been completed: Priti Parikh, president, resident welfare association, Grah Parvesh
If we have already received complaints then the matter would be addressed soon. We will attend to these issues.
Noida Authority should not just pay attention to sector drains but also drains within residential apartments, which are at many places, not maintained: Parikh
The Noida Authority has no authority to clean up drains within the apartments (complexes).
Where can we contact the general manager of Noida Authority for further correspondence: A Noida resident, who attended the session
I welcome emails at gmrtnoida@gmail.com. Noida is poised to become the number one city in India and for this, we should set aside petty differences, focus on large outcomes and make the city clean and green and organised in the years to come.
We are working very effectively on beautification of the city, garbage management, cleanliness, pollution control, growth in infrastructure and on issues related to the civic needs of the people.
The speciality of Noida is that people leave other cities and come to live here, and those who live here never leave Noida.
Lets us all come together to build a beautiful city.
