BSF jawan from Rajasthan kills self in Malkangiri

KORAPUT: A BSF jawan engaged in anti-Maoist operations in Malkangiri district committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle late on Tuesday night.
Police said the deceased was identified as Shesha Karan, a resident of Rajasthan and a member of the 9th battalion of the BSF posted at Chitrakonda in the district for counter-insurgency operations.A senior BSF officer said the jawan, aged around 26, had joined the paramilitary force in 2017. On Tuesday night, he returned to the barracks inside Chitrakonda police station around 1 am and shot himself with his service rifle.
