SEB Banka issues EUR 390 million in loans to companies in H1

SEB Banka issued loans in the amount of EUR 390 mln to companies in the first six months of this year, which is 93% more than in the same period last year, as the bank's representatives informed LETA.

The bank explained that the substantial increase in the lending volume was largely attributable to activity in the large companies segment.


The total amount of loans issued by SEB Banka to small and medium-sized enterprises in January-June this year was EUR 73 mln.


The bank's corporate loan portfolio has increased 2% year on year.


According to SEB Banka board member Arnis Skapars, during the first half of this year, the bank has issued different loans to 973 small and medium-sized enterprises.

The amount of new loans issued in the second quarter did not decrease as compared to the first quarter, Skapars added.


As reported, SEB Group in Latvia earned EUR 15.6 mln in profit in January-June this year, a decrease of 33% on the first half of 2018. The bank's total loan portfolio stood at EUR 3.121 bn at the end of this past June.


SEB Banka is the second largest bank in Latvia in terms of assets.
