PATNA: A man brutally killed his wife after stabbing her multiple times in head, face, neck and other parts of body allegedly due to family dispute at village Matiyao under Yadunathpur police station area in Rohtas district of Bihar on Wednesday night. The slain woman was identified as Ribha Devi, aged around 30 years.
Yadunathpur police station SHO Shambhu Kumar said that Ribha’s husband was arrested from the village in the wee hours of Thursday.

He said the accused was identified as Raju Singh alias Fitun Singh, aged around 36 years. He said that the woman was living with her parents at Matiyao for almost one and half months due to dispute with her husband. The couple got married around 12 years back and had two minor sons and a daughter.
“Raju had reached his wife's residence at Matiyao for meeting her. Ribha’s parents and other family members had welcomed him even after the tension between Ribha and even served food,” he said.
The SHO said that after having food, Raju went inside a room to relax with his wife. “He had the door from inside and started conversation with wife. All of a sudden, Raju gagged his wife by keeping hand on her mouth and started stabbing her,” he said.
The SHO said that Ribha was stabbed multiple times in head, face, neck, abdomen, limbs and other parts of her body.
“She was rushed to hospital but died on the way. She was stabbed more than a dozen times. Meanwhile, Raju fled the spot and hid himself in the village,” SHO said.

SHO Kumar said it was yet not clear if Raju had brought the knife with himself or had got it from inside Ribha’s house only.
“Ribha’s father Singheshwar Singh had recorded statement that Raju used not to give her food and always thrashed him due to which she had left his house and came Matiyao with children,” he said.
The SHO said Raju was the native of village Ratangarh under Kandi police station in Garhwa district of Jharkhand near Rohtas and had reached Matiyao after crossing hills on foot. He said that further investigation was going on in connection with the case and the body was handed over to family after autopsy on Thursday.
