Nalanda Open University 1st in state to adopt varsity management information system

PATNA: Nalanda Open University (NOU) implemented the university management information system (UMIS) on Thursday. With this, the process of online admission of students to 105 different courses of the university has begun.
Inaugurating the system at a function in the NOU conference hall, vice-chancellor (VC) H N Prasad said, “NOU is the first university in the state to adopt the UMIS which will improve our work efficiency and serve the distant learners in a better way.All works related to admissions, examinations and publication of results will now be expedited and academic session regularized.”
NOU registrar (examinations) Sanjay Kumar pointed out that girls would get 25% concession in course fee this year. Coordinator of the information technology course, Amar Nath Pandey, said at least 100 students had got themselves registered for admissions within an hour of the commencement of the new system. Pro-VC Kriteshwar Prasad, registrar (administration) Vijay Shankar Ray and a number of teachers were present on the occasion.
