PATNA: Police on Sunday sent a woman to jail along with her two relatives for allegedly attacking her husband with acid after tying his hands and legs at their house at Sujapur village under the Barari police station area in Katihar district.
The victim was identified as Sanjay Prasad Mandal. Police said Sanjay was initially rushed to referral hospital at Barari from where he was shifted to district sadar hospital.

Katihar sadar SDPO Amarkant Jha said Sanjay’s wife Bharti Devi, her sister Arti Mandal and brother-in-law Gopal Mandal were arrested on Saturday night.
Jha said the incident occurred on Saturday when Bharti’s family members reached Sanjay’s residence.
“They got involved in a heated argument with Sanjay. Later, they tied the hands and legs of Sanjay and poured acid on him,” the SDPO said, adding police rushed to the spot after being informed by locals.
Jha said preliminary investigations revealed that Sanjay suspected his wife of having an illicit relation with someone and the two used to fight over the issue frequently.
The SDPO added Sanjay has filed a written complaint against Bharti and five of his in-laws.
