GREATER NOIDA: A real estate developer in Shahberi, who is facing charges under the Gangster Act, has lodged a complaint alleging that his partners in AKJ Real Infra continue to carry out construction work despite the high court’s stay on it.
The complainant, Anil Chauhan from Sector 73, said his partners fraudulently acquired his share and later framed him with the help of police to develop illegal projects in Shahberi.

Chauhan, who has six criminal cases filed against him, said he had quit the project in 2015 soon after knowing that the HC had stayed the construction in the village.
“I had sold them my share of land in 2015 to my partners at Rs 3 crore, which they have not paid till date. Later, when the twin building collapsed and the police started probing illegal construction in the village, my partners colluded with the officers and framed me,” he said.
He also alleged that without a proper probe, the police charged him in six cases of illegal construction and imposed Gangster Act against him.
Chauhan said after his arrest, his partners continued the construction as they had “green signal” from the police. “I have been fighting to get justice since the past one year, the court has currently given a stay on my arrest. However, despite several complaints highlighting the ongoing construction, the police did nothing to stop it. My partners have almost completed the building and are selling flats. I fear that they might run away with my as well as the buyer’s money,” he said.

Chauhan has also attached a video of the project with his complaint filed with the DCP (Central Noida) in which workers can be seen giving finishing touches to the multi-storey apartment.
DCP Harish Chander said the allegations are being probed.
Around 1,453 illegal buildings in Shahberi have been already notified by GNIDA. Some of these buildings also have occupants.
The construction and selling of illegal flats in the village had come to light after twin buildings collapsed in July, 2018 claiming lives of nine people. Since then police have filed FIRs against 181 developers out of which 19 have been listed as gangsters while two have been booked under National Security Act. Many among those accused have got anticipatory bail from the court.
