Sushant Singh Rajput death case: Siddharth Pithani reaches ED office to record statement
Sushant Singh Rajput's friend and former manager Siddharth Pithani reached the ED office in Mumbai today. He will be questioned in connection with the money laundering case against Rhea Chakraborty.
Siddharth Pithani, Sushant Singh Rajput's friend and Creative Content Manager, reached the Enforcement Directorate office on Monday afternoon. He was summoned by ED to be present on August 8. However, Pithani did not join the probe then. Earlier, in the morning, Rhea Chakraborty along with her brother, Showik Chakraborty, and father, Indrajit Chakraborty, reached the ED office for questioning.
The Enforcement Directorate is investigating the money laundering angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case after the actor's father, KK Singh, lodged an FIR against Rhea in Rajiv Nagar Police Station in Patna, Bihar. In his FIR, Sushant's father alleged that Rhea and her family siphoned off Rs 15 crore from the late actor's bank account. He also accused the actress of abetment to suicide.
On Saturday, the ED questioned Showik Chakraborty for about 18 hours in connection with the case. Rhea Chakraborty was grilled for more than 8 hours on Friday (August 7).
In today's questioning, the ED officials are expected to ask about her investments. A sudden cash flow in two accounts of Rhea was detected by the ED. She will be questioned regarding the same today by the agency. Sources say the actress will also be questioned about her Khar property and if she has any knowledge about Sushant’s investment in last 2 years. And if she or any of her family members is nominee of that investment(s).
According to sources, Rhea will be asked about details of the investment in last 2 years linked to her. ED believes that some investments of her are not known to investigative agencies. The sources add that Rhea has been asked to provide supporting documents regarding the expenses she incurred for which money was transferred from Sushant’s account.
Sushant Singh Rajput's friend and producer, Sandip Ssingh, has also been summoned by the ED in the money laundering. The agency has found a transaction between the late actor and the producer's bank accounts.
