PUNE: Fewer number of verified forms compared to the total number of students registered on the centralized portal of the First Year Junior College (FYJC) admissions, compelled the director of secondary and higher secondary education to write to the deputy director of education to clear the pendency quickly.
For example, in Pune, of around 91,000 students had registered and only around 58,000 forms had been verified till Monday evening.
The letter added that students from other boards should ensure the conversion of marks was done correctly and that students locked their form after filling up all details, so that it could be processed further.
“We need to start the process of filling up part 2 of the form and for that it is necessary that the process of filling up part 1 has completed. It has come to our notice that while many forms have not been submitted/locked by students, there are forms only pending for verification at the respective guidance centres of the schools. We need to start the process of filling up option forms as well as the quota admissions. For this, the pending work needs to be cleared at the earliest,” Dinkar Patil, the director of the secondary and higher secondary education, said.
Students of boards other than the Maharashtra state board, while ending the FYJC admission process, need to manually enter their Standard X marks after entering their seat number. The data of other board students will not get filled automatically as it happens with the state board students because the data of such students is not available with the centralized admission process committee. However, Patil said many forms from other boards were being sent back online to students’ login because of the incorrect filling up of marks.
“As per the government resolutions of June 29, 2019, the students from ICSE board have to either give their marks out of the total 700 marks or choose the best five subjects and then fill up the marks. But, many students are filling marks out of 600 because of which the forms are not getting verified. Even CBSE students need to fill up their marks out of 500 and not 600. The students need to upload all the documents supporting these claims, lock it again and then wait for the form to get verified,” Patil said.
Some forms of repeater candidates too were being sent back because of lack of data. “Marks of certain subjects have not been uploaded by the state board for some repeater students and so the forms have also been sent back. These students need to check and then fill up the data manually and re-lock the forms for verification,” Patil added.
