Tablighi case: Delhi police soften stance

Delhi Police has told the high court that it is not opposed to quashing of separate FIRs against various foreigners, who attended a Tablighi Jamaat event at Nizamuddin Markaz, in connection with visa violations and breach of Covid-19 guidelines.

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police has told the high court that it is not opposed to quashing of separate FIRs against various foreigners, who attended a Tablighi Jamaat event at Nizamuddin Markaz, in connection with visa violations and breach of Covid-19 guidelines.
Police submitted before justice Anup J Bhambhani that since these foreigners have already pleaded guilty in the first FIR, they don’t want to prosecute further.
