Delhi hotels, gyms and weekly markets unlikely to open this week

“If the number of daily fresh Covid-19 cases continues to be like it was last week, it is highly possible that gyms, hotels and yoga centres will not be allowed for now,” said a health department official.

On the other hand, the Aam Aadmi party led government in the national capital has declined to comment on the matter. Lieutenant Governor Mr. Anil Baijal is yet to return the file sent by Revenue Minister Kailash Gahlot on August 6 that sought for approval to open hotels, gyms, weekly markets and yoga centres in the national capital.

The recovery rate of the National Capital has surpassed the 90 per cent-mark. A total of 707 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the capital city because of fewer tests conducted on August 9.
