PATNA: Criminals killed a grocery trader’s 17-year-old son by slitting his throat while committing dacoity in his house at Dobrapar under Bundelkhand police station in Nawada late Monday night. The dacoits slit the throat of Roushan Kumar, who woke up when they entered his room on the second floor of the house.
SHO Shaharyar Khan said Roushan’s father Satyanand Prasad (49) was also thrashed and injured. “The family is not in a position to speak anything,” he said.
Satyanand owns a grocery shop as well as an RO plant to supply potable water in containers to several places.
“The dacoits entered Roushan’s bedroom through the window by removing the aluminium frame with a thin iron net used for keeping mosquitoes at bay,” he said. “They fled with some valuables,” he added.
A sharp-edged weapon used in killing Roushan was seized. Satyanand’s wife and two minor daughters were sleeping in the underground section, which had a heavy iron grill locked from inside.
Khan said the family belongs to Sherphua village under Khudaganj police station in Nalanda and got settled in Bundelkhand eight years back. He said the body was handed over to the family after postmortem.
