Telangana: Old M1 model of EVMs to be discarded from Nalgonda collectorate

The M1 model of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) manufactured before 2006 will be removed as instructed by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

HYDERABAD: The M1 model of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) manufactured before 2006 will be removed as instructed by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Nalgonda district collector Prashant Patil visited the godown in which the EVMs were stored on the collectorate premises and carried out an inspection.
He said the machines to be discarded will be sent to the ECIL unit at Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh.
The old M1 model of the EVMs were in use until the 2014 general elections.
