Parts of south Gujarat region receive heavy rainfall

Most parts of south Gujarat region received heavy rainfall since Wednesday morning and incessant rains continue in some of the region on Thursday as well.

In Surat district, Mandvi taluka received highest rainfall with 208mm followed by 132mm in Bardoli, 102mm in Mahuva, 90mm in Mangrol and 104mm in Surat city.
SURAT: Most parts of south Gujarat region received heavy rainfall since Wednesday morning and incessant rains continue in some of the region on Thursday as well.
According to district flood control room officials, Songadh taluka of Tapi district and Mandvi taluka of Surat district received 200mm rainfall in last 24 hours while Gandevi and Chikhli of Navsari district received 150mm rainfall during this period.

"Due to incessant rainfall, as many as 38 roads connecting villages and towns in Tapi district have been closed as precautionary measures and they will soon be restored for commuters," said a government official.
In Valsad district, Pardi received highest rainfall with 170mm followed by 101mm in Dharampur, 100mm in Kaprada, 92mm in Umargam, 98mm in Valsad and industrial town Vapi recieved 90mm rainfall since Wednesday morning to Thursday morning.
The tribal district Dang also received heavy rainfall in last 36 hours with highest rainfall occurred in Vaghai taluka with 115mm followed by 93mm in Subir and 80mm in Ahwa taluka of Dang district.
In Surat district, Mandvi taluka received highest rainfall with 208mm followed by 132mm in Bardoli, 102mm in Mahuva, 90mm in Mangrol and 104mm in Surat city.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy rainfall warning for the next 48 hours.
"Heavy to very heavy rains very likely at isolated places in the districts of Gujarat region namely Anand, Panchmahal, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Navsari, Valsad and in Daman, Dadara Nagar Haveli; in the district of Saurashtra namely Rajkot, Junagadh, Amreli and Gir Somnath," said IMD official.
