Over 100 people have been booked in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh for crowding in violation of COVID-19 protocol to organise Krishna Janmashtami festival. They had gathered to take part in the Dahi-handi Matki-phod event in the Pichhore region forming human pyramids as part of the celebration on Tuesday. Eight ‘Govindas’ have been identified as arrested so far. The Ministry of Home Affairs has already directed states and Union Territories to prevent social gatherings and religious processions during the upcoming festivals and ensure lockdown measures were strictly followed.
