    IDAY: CISF men who saved lives in CGO Delhi, ONGC Mumbai blaze awarded Shaurya Chakras

    • Four Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel who laid down their lives while saving people from a fire in Delhi's CGO complex and another at ONGC Mumbai have been awarded the Shaurya Chakra on the eve of the Independence Day on Friday.
    • The medal is the third highest peacetime gallantry medal awarded by the government.
    • The awardees, as per officials, include Sub Inspector Mahaveer Prasad Godara, Head Constable Eranna Nayaka and Constables Mahendra Kumar Paswan and Satish Prasad Kushwaha.
    • Godara made the supreme sacrifice on March 6 last year while he was evacuating people and looking for survivors after a blaze engulfed the 5th floor office of the Social Justice and Empowerment ministry located in the Pt Deen Dayal Antyodaya building of the CGO's complex in Delhi.

    • India and Nepal will hold talks on August 17 under their "oversight mechanism'' for reviewing all bilateral economic and developmental projects in the Himalayan nation, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Friday.
    • This would be the first major engagement since bilateral ties came under strain after the Himalayan nation came up with a new political map in May.
    • Asked about reports that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Nepalese counterpart K P Sharma Oli could have a telephonic conversation on August 15, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said, "I have no information on this, I need to check."

    • Reliance Industries Ltd chairman Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita will on Saturday e-launch a book on coronavirus penned by three medical experts and which addresses the history, evolution, facts and myths around the pandemic, the publishers said.
    • "The Coronavirus: What You Need to Know about the Global Pandemic", written by internal medicine specialist Dr Swapneil Parikh, clinical psychologist Maherra Desai, and neuropsychiatrist Dr Rajesh M Parikh, is published by Ebury Press, an imprint of Penguin Random House.
    • The book will be launched via JioMeet, the publishers said.
    • The authors said the symptoms of coronavirus are dangerously similar to that of the common flu: fever, coughing, breathlessness, tiredness, headache and muscle pain.

    • The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) on Friday set aside the insolvency proceedings against Ansal Properties and Infrastructure Ltd and ruled that the management of the company be handed over back to its board.
    • A three-member NCLAT bench observed that a decree-holder cannot be treated as financial creditor for the purpose of triggering insolvency proceedings against a company.
