High-calibre speaker and sponsor line-up for the Future of Work Virtual Conference

Attendees to the first-ever Future of Work Virtual Conference can look forward to an esteemed panel of speakers, each of them industry leaders set to engage on new technology for the post-pandemic business. They’re being brought to audiences, free of charge, through the Hopin platform on Thursday, 20 August 2020 from 9am to 4pm, by an elite level of sponsors, all of whom envision great potential in the future of African business.

Kabelo Makwane, Vodacom Business Managing Executive for Cloud, Hosting & Security added: “As things stand, there is a great opportunity for clients to think about how they can accelerate their journey to the cloud, because it comes with the inherent benefit of magnificent savings. It unlocks value because when you amass enough data in the cloud, it allows for insights-driven management of business. I believe there is a lot of value to be extracted by businesses who think cloud-first, embracing scale with analytics that provides insight into pockets of value in their business.”

Sid Wahi, Managing Director of CMA Investment Holdings, the Founding shareholder of the ABN Group; including CNBC Africa and Forbes Africa said: “While digital transformation has been part of the executive lexicon for quite some time now, the current economic environment – accelerated by the covid-19 pandemic – has made the need to change even more important. By launching this conference, we aim to demystify these concepts and help businesses gear up for the future ahead.”

Says  Patrick Grillo: Senior Director, Solutions Marketing at Fortinet, commented: “The recent introduction of Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) concept has taken the networking and security worlds by storm.  By integrating these two functions into a single mechanism, the intention is that – regardless of who or what is connecting to the network – consistent security can be applied.  In hindsight however, a cloud-only approach to the security services overlooks the advantages of deploying security locally. Security is a key enabler of digital transformation and with the traditional network evolving into a series of different edges, security must be tailored to the individual needs of the wide range of edges. SASE will be a key element, but not the only one.”

“We are looking forward to being part of this important discussion on the future of work,” said Canninah Mapena, Managing Director and Country Sales Director for Rockwell Automation Sub-Saharan Africa. “While many businesses worldwide are battling uncertainty and adapting to the ‘new normal’, we believe our insights can help the audience navigate the ever-changing technological environment, to learn more about the benefits and how we are bringing The Connected Enterprise to life across industrial enterprises. We connect the imaginations of people with the potential of technology to expand what is humanly possible, making the world more productive and sustainable.”
