BENGALURU: More than 100 depositors of Sri Guru Raghavendra Cooperative
Bank staged a symbolic
hunger strike near the head office in Basavanagudi on Friday. They demanded action against the bank fraudsters who took them for a ride and threatened to go on fast from October 2 otherwise.
KV Adisheshaiah, president of Sri Guru Raghavendra Bank Thevanidarara Hitarakshana Vedike, said the high court had directed seizure of properties of those involved in the fraud.
The bank’s previous management board allegedly sanctioned loans without proper verification and documents, leading to a spike in the bank’s non-performing assets, he alleged.
