Race for Deshorn Brown

The publication states that he has been the subject of talks between his South African-based agent, Sipho Joyisi of Soccer Consultants Group and the Buccaneers.

“The player is also wanted by Pirates and AmaZulu,” Joyisi is quoted by Soccer Laduma. “There’s too much interest in him now. Clubs are showing more interest in him, and with real seriousness. Pirates spoke to me last week already and I met AmaZulu last Thursday. I am hoping to hear from them again soon.”

Pirate of the Caribbean: Who is Deshorn Brown?

The journeyman is currently in the books of Bengaluru in the Indian Super League.

This is after spells in the Norwegian top flight and Major League Soccer in the United States.

He has netted a total of 77 goals in a senior professional career that has spanned a little over 200 matches.

Brown has featured 15 times for Jamaica, finding the net twice. His last international appearance came in 2015 in a 3-0 defeat to South Korea.

In the India Super League, the player has featured ten times, finding the net an impressive seven occasions.

How he could fit in at Orlando Pirates

Should he complete a deal to join the Buccaneers, Brown will only be eligible to don the famous black and white in the 2020/21 season, which kicks off in September.

He will have stiff competition at the centre of the attack in the form of PSL leading goal scorer Gabadinho Mhango.

However, the Malawian international has been linked with a move abroad after his exploits in the ongoing campaign. This could leave Brown battling with the likes of rising stars Tshegofatso Mabasa and Zakhele Lepasa for a starting place, along with Zambian duo Augustine Mulenga and Justin Shonga.
