Two killed in property dispute in UP's Pratapgarh

A man and his son were killed over a property dispute in UP's Pratapgarh district on Sunday. The deceased- Dayashankar Mishra and Anand Mishra of Shekhupur village were killed during a brawl with one Chandra Mani Mishra over a piece of land, the police said. A team from over six police stations is camping in the area to control the law and order situation.

LUCKNOW: A man and his son were killed over a property dispute in Uttar Pradesh's Pratapgarh district on Sunday.
The deceased- Dayashankar Mishra and Anand Mishra of Shekhupur village in Raniganj police station area were killed during a brawl with one Chandra Mani Mishra over a piece of land, the police said.
Superintendent of police, Pratapgarh, Abhishek Singh said that a panchayat was held on Sunday to resolve the dispute between the two parties in the village.

However, the police was not informed about any such meeting, while two lawyers- Vimal Tiwari and Suresh Chandra Tripathi were acting as intermediaries, said Singh.
He also said that during the meeting, a group led by Dayashankar and another group led by Chandra Mani Mishra clashed.
“Both Dayashankar and his son Anand along with Chandra Mani suffered injuries and were taken to the district hospital where Dayashankar and his son were declared brought dead,” the SP said.
He also said that Rajesh Mishra, son of Chandra Mani, has been arrested while four teams have been formed to arrest the other accused.
Police outpost incharge sub-inspector Rajesh Rai, head constable Buddhan Prasad, and constable Rama Yadav have been suspended for laxity.
