MUMBAI: Only 20% tickets have been booked for
trains that have been organized to and from
Konkan to cater to Ganesh festival rush.
Till 6pm on Saturday, only 1,048 seats were booked, as against the capacity of 5,356 in four trains that were scheduled today.
A
Central Railway (CR) official said, “The response has been extremely
poor, with seats lying
vacant in 2A, 3A and even sleeper class.
We hope that demand picks up gradually as today was the first day of booking of trains.”
A total of 182 services have been planned across CR and Western Railway from various stations of Mumbai and Konkan till September 5.
