Rewa kept their lead on the Vodafone Premier League points table when they came from behind to hold Ba 1-1 at the Fiji FA Academy ground in Ba yesterday.

The Delta Tigers had to change their jerseys in the first half. It is understood that the one they had worn earlier did not meet certain requirements of the competition.

What happened: Both teams started cautiously but Ba settled down early as they began to dominate play.

They took the lead midway in the first spell through midfielder Darold Kakasi.

Halftime: Ba 1-0 Rewa

A yellow card was shown to Rewa goalkeeper Senirusi Bokini for unprofessional play.

Rewa began to dictate play as they looked for the equaliser and it was Setareki Hughes who slotted in their lone goal for a 1-1 draw.

Comments: Rewa’s coach Marika Rodu said: We didn’t give away the game, we kept on working in order to get us an equaliser.

“We now look forward to the game against Nasinu but we don’t want to repeat our mistakes.”

Ba striker, Sanaila Waqanicakau said: “Rewa gave us a hard game but overall we played well.

“We will go back and improve on our mistakes and also on our finishing.”
