UP: Five labourers killed as jeep crashes into truck in Bahraich

Five labourers were killed and 11 others sustained injuries when the jeep they were travelling in crashed into a stationary truck in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district on Monday morning.

The mishap took place at around 5am on Monday.
LUCKNOW: Five labourers were killed and 11 others sustained injuries when the jeep they were travelling in crashed into a stationary truck in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district on Monday morning.
Police said that jeep carrying labourers from Bihar was heading towards Ambala in Haryana.
Additional superintendent of police, city, KJ Singh said that around 5am a jeep carrying 16 passengers whose driver probably dozed off hit a truck in Payagpur police station area.

"Onlookers informed police about the accident, and immediately team was dispatched to carry out the rescue work. Three persons died on the spot while two were declared brought dead at the local CHC," said Singh.
He also said the 11 injured were admitted to district hospital while an FIR has been registered against the truck driver. The truck has been seized for parking it negligently on the road.
