More than 350 private, charter and public school districts across Oklahoma have reported cases of coronavirus since the start of fall classes. View an interactive map below.

Update: August 19, 2021: StateImpact is tracking schools and school districts forced to closures or pivot to distance learning because of cases of COVID-19 in their classrooms. See a database and map for the 2021-22 school year here.

No one knows how many cases of the coronavirus are present in Oklahoma schools. But, we do know there are hundreds of cases in every part of the state.

StateImpact has been tracking confirmed cases of COVID-19 in schools. So far, more than 880 public announcements have been discovered from more than 350 private, charter and public school districts. That's more than half the number of school districts in the state. There are likely more.

We'll continue tracking confirmed cases and outbreaks at schools in this post.

An Oklahoma State Department of Education spokeswoman said that agency is currently working on a mechanism for school districts to report cases. It’s unclear, though, if the data collected will be publicly available and what form it might take.

In the meantime, please send us any cases of the coronavirus you know of or think we should check out by filling out this form:
