JEE Main 2020: 467 candidates register for free conveyance in Indore

INDORE: As many as 467 Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) aspirants from Indore division have registered for being ferried to and fro examination centre to appear in the competitive test, which begins from Tuesday.
As instructed by state government, candidates registered for free conveyance on Monday till 4 pm. The highest number of registrations are from Khargone district with 107 aspirants and the lowest from Alirajpur with 11.
The registration from Indore district was second highest with 79 candidates opting for the free conveyance.
As many as 75 registrations were done by aspirants from Barwani followed by Jhabua 71, Khandwa 55, Dhar 51 and Burhanpur 18.
“Out of 467 candidates, who have registered to be ferried for JEE and NEET exam centres, 141 will be appearing in the entrance test on Tuesday. Out them, 77 are from Khargone and nine are from Indore district,” Indore school education department joint director Manish Verma told TOI.
The department has set up a control room and a monitoring team for smooth functioning of transport during the competitive exams. Also, nodal officers have been deployed to ensure that the registered candidates are ferried for free, he added.
The control room will have seven in charges, who will be working in two different shifts for six hours, during the examinations.
Apart from the state government, IIT Delhi students and alumni too had come up with an initiative of free rides for aspirants, who from a low connectivity area needs support to reach the exam centre.
Aspirants need to drop admit card in box
Candidates will be permitted to carry exam related documents such as admit card and identity card, simple transparent ball pen, additional photograph, to be pasted on the attendance sheet, personal hand sanitizer (50 ml), and personal transparent water bottle. They will have to drop the admit card and rough sheets in advised boxes after displaying to the staff available next to the drop-box. If any candidate misses to drop admit card or rough sheets in boxes, action including disqualification from the exam, can be taken against him.
